Welcome to Old Priory Junior School

Thank you for visiting our website, and your interest in our happy and successful school. The staff, governors and children extend a warm welcome to all those who wish to find out more about us and what makes Old Priory so special.

This website hopes to give visitors information about the life of the school, its organisation and the many achievements of our pupils.

Old Priory Junior School is set in the outskirts of Plymouth in the heart of Plympton, very close to the Ridgeway shopping centre. We are very lucky to have extensive grounds which house our swimming pool, adventure playground, two large play areas, environmental area with outdoor classroom, orienteering trail and sports field.

The school was built in the late 1960s, but has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Each classroom is bright and airy, has two internet linked PCs, and an interactive whiteboard.

Most of our children come to us from St. Mary’s CofE Infant School and leave us to attend the Hele’s School. All three schools are extremely popular and have a strong reputation both locally and across the city.

We are small enough to have that family feel, yet large enough to take part in the full range of age appropriate activities that are necessary for a school to be a vibrant and active community.
