Animals at Old Priory
Old Priory is lucky enough to home Guinea Pigs and the children are extremely adept at caring for our furry friends.
The children learn to both take care of and become responsible for the animals' welfare. They will let them out in the morning and put them to bed, feed them, clean them and give lots of cuddles! Guinea Pigs love attention and being stroked so no doubt they will enjoy being the wealth of attention that they get at school.
Albie - Our School Dog
Albie is our school dog and he regularly visits. Albie is owned by Mrs Ottewell our Headteacher. He has been visiting St. Mary's and Old Priory since he was very young and is very accustomed to being with young children. The children enjoy spending time with him in class and helping to look after him around the school, including taking him for walks in our extensive grounds.
Albie is a Cavachon (King Charles Cavalier crossed with Bichon Frise). This means that he does not shed fur and is therefore suitable for people who may have allergies to pets.
