E-Safety is a top priority for Old Priory Junior Academy and informs all the decisions we make as educators. Our aim is to provide children with the information and confidence to use technology in a safe and effective way. We use a Digital Literacy programme as part of our ICT curriculum which covers all areas of safe and sensible technology use from 'Sharing Information Safely Online' to 'Password Protectors'. Our filtering system is under constant review to ensure the children can use the internet safely in school.
We celebrate Safer Internet Day every February to shine a spotlight on the key points of staying safe online, run parent workshops and provide regular reminders during lessons about searching safely online. Our Digital leaders have undergone special training to provide a pupil voice in class and also lead whole assemblies about E-Safety.
E Safety is covered in our Safeguarding Policy.
