PTA

Welcome to the Old Priory Junior Academy Parent Teachers & Friends Association

Did you know that just by sending your child or children to our school, you are already a member of our PTFA? How active you are within the PTFA is, however, entirely your choice. Working closely with Friends of St Marys Infant school we raise funds via fun and family friendly events.

This page aims to give you a little bit of information about the PTFA and the activities and fundraising events that will be coming up throughout the school year.

Our PTFA is a voluntary organisation currently made up of a handful of parents and staff. Over the years we have raised a significant amount, which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in school in general.

Examples of the projects we have helped with include:

  • Funding maintenance of the Trim Trail and outdoor gym area
  • Supporting the purchase of books and equipment for pupils
  • Purchase of new IT equipment including touch screen interactive boards in the classroom and tablet computers
  • Subsidising School Trips
  • Art projects
  • Equipment required for returning after covid break

The PTFA is not just about raising money for the school but also about having fun! We try to make as many events we family oriented as possible, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of our school.

In the past year we have had:

  • Children Discos
  • Summer and Christmas Fairs
  • Mufti Days
  • Duck Race
  • Movie Nights

We have plenty of fundraising and other social events planned but as always we really do need hands on helpers to help us achieve them. Everyone can get involved if they want to, even if they only have a small amount of time available, we are always in need of volunteers – whether it’s helping out with organising a particular event or selling raffle tickets or even just helping to tidy away after an event. Your time will always be greatly appreciated.

If you have any feedback about anything on this page or the PTFA in general or you are interested in finding out more about our PTFA then please speak directly to an active PTFA member or to someone in the School Office, We can be contacted on dojo Ms. OPJA PTFA & FOSMS or email Oldprioryptfa@gmail.com. You are also more than welcome to put suggestions in writing to the school office in an envelope, clearly marked PTFA.

Thank you and we look forward to your support over the coming year.
